Juicing

If you have not yet tried juicing, start today! Find a friend or relative who has a juicer and try it out. Juicing is one quick and easy way to give your body NATURAL ENERGY! Yes I said energy for all my momma student or professional readers who don't remember what energy is. This is the missing piece to your battle with low energy.

Juicing is very beneficial to ones overall health. Best part is you waste hardly non of the veggies or fruits and you can compost the pulp :)

Here are the top 3 reasons why you should juice:
  1. It helps you absorb all the nutrients from the vegetables and fruits.
  2. Juicing is a great way to intake a optimal amount of veggies and fruits in an efficient way.
  3. Broaden your intake of veggies by juicing veggies you do not normally eat.

Is juice a complete meal?
No it is not.

Why?
Vegetables and fruits have a tiny amount of protein and barely no fat in it so alone, juicing is not a complete meal. It should be incorporated into your regular meals.

For those of you who have "sluggish" digestion, juicing is perfect for you. Over the years of eating less that ideal foods, our digestive systems get bogged down which inhibits your body from being able to absorb all the nutrients it needs!

Juicing also helps to "pre-digest" your foods so your body can soak up all the nutrients your trying to give it instead of just pooping it out...yes this happens!

For all my carb lovers out there (im one of them) it is recommended that you consume about 1lb of raw veggies per 50lbs body weight each day, seems like a lot huh? Well its not with a juicer!

Here are a few tips on Juicing efficiently:
  • Juice then DRINK! Veggie juice oxidizes (oxygen turning apples brown) very fast. This means that the longer it takes for you to drink it, the less nutrients your consuming.
  • If you juice then store it, store juice in a glass airtight container and fill it all the way to the top to reduce the amount of oxygen exposed to your juice.
  • It should be delicious- not disgusting so tweak your recipes!
  • Choose organic veggies and fruits when possible

Veggies I recommend ALWAYS buying organic:
  1. Cucumbers
  2. Carrots
  3. Lettuce
  4. Collard greens
  5. Celery
  6. Spinach
  7. Kale

What kind of juicer do i buy?
Buy a juicer that is not too cheap but not too pricey something between 150-300 is efficient enough! We use the one all over the infomercials, the Jack La Lannes one.

What to do with the pulp when done:
  • Compost it
  • Use it for sensory if you have young kids! (carrot pulp molds like play dough)

So there you have it! The truth about WHY you NEED a juicer!

Enjoy :)
