7 Lifestyle changes to achieve clearer skin

Having clear skin that you are proud of is one of the best confidence boosters. Ive decided to outline a few important lifestyle tips that will help you achieve clear and happy skin!

1. Drink PLENTY of water.
Drinking water might seem like a no brainer but the average person does not get enough water each day. Keeping your body hydrated will help to flush out internal toxins and it also helps to boost blood flow throughout your body. Remember to consume at least 6-8 large glasses of water each day. { I like to keep my 40 oz. Kleen Kanteen by my side. I try to drink two full bottles each day.}

2. Reduce the amount of processed foods you consume.

Ever heard the saying "you are what you eat."? It is SO true! If you are serious about having health skin, then start with what you eat. Consuming a diet high in fresh fruits and vegetables is an easy place to begin. I have also recommended time and time again to read the labels of the foods you purchase. If you cannot pronounce it, you probably should not be eating it.

3. Eliminate refined sugars from your diet...NO MORE SODA!
Not only is soda bad for your teeth, it is even worse for your skin. Too much sugar in your system causes a spike in your insulin levels which can throw your body out of balance. 

4. Exercise more.
Not only is exercise a positive outlet to relieve the extra energy (both emotional and physical) we accumulate on a daily basis but, it also helps you look and feel better too! Everything in the mind and body is interconnected. 

5. Get your body on a healthy circadian rhythm.
Yes...SLEEP MORE! If you go to bed when the sun sets and wake when it rises you are helping to establish a healthy internal circadian rhythm. Cherish sleeping! Its the only time in the day where the body gets to reset itself. If you constantly interrupt this vital reset, your body will become stressed out...and we all know that stress can lead to a plethora of health and skin issues.

6. Less stress, more positivity!
We all experience stress from time to time and it is no bueno! Stress can reek havoc on our hormones. When our hormones are out of balance our skin is more susceptible to breakouts. Even if you do struggle with acne, focusing on how unhappy you may feel will only lower your self confidence. Positivity is key here. With anything in life it is always better to have a positive frame of mind so start putting out those positive vibrations!

7. Use TruSelf Organics products every day.
My weekly routine consists of using the Detoxifying Facial Mask 2x a week and the Foaming Facial Cleanser and Ocean Mineral Moisturizer EVERY SINGLE DAY. When I get out of the shower in the morning the moisturizer is the first thing I put on my face...and it feels OH SO AMAZING!

To sum it all up, the best way to achieve healthy, clear and happy skin is to LOVE yourself.

LOVE YOURSELF enough to exercise.
LOVE YOURSELF enough to eat right.
LOVE YOURSELF enough to sleep well.
LOVE YOURSELF enough to stay positive.

The skin is our bodies largest organ and it should be treated with love and care.
